Getting a Second Lhasa

I have a 6 yr old. male, neutered Lhasa and I have an opportunity to adopt a 2 yr old female Lhasa. My dilemma is that my male has a dominant personality and tends to get jealous. He has come a long ways regarding his behavior (would nip if he didnt get his way) and I dont want to set him back by bringing another dog in. He also tends to really like other dogs that are smaller than he is and are not dominant. The female that is up for adoption is smaller than the male and seems to have a very sweet disposition. I would appreciate opinions as to if adopting the female would be a good thing to do. I just dont want to do the wrong thing as the little female has already been in two homes and if I adopt her, I want my home to be her final one. Thanks!!

I understand you diliema, boy I not really sure, does this agency allow visitation, maybe if you could bring your little boy to her a couple of times in a quite area away from home they could just meet and get to know each other that way first. I think with any dog it take time and understanding both of their needs. I feel home would be to hard for both of them for first meeting. If you see that he has excepted her then take to the next step. Who knows if your going to like everything the little girls does so you also have to be very sure this will be right for all three. I know I rescue and have even kept a couple of my rescues but my dogs are so use to different dogs coming and even going they except every new kid as a member of the family. Good luck
