I have just recently come to terms with the fact that a lakeland terrier is out of my reach at this moment. I am going to go ahead and get a mini schnauzer. someday though i am going to have a lakeland, but not right now. what i am writing this message for is i was reculecting on some of the crazy stories i have heard about lakelands, and i want to know more about what kind of stunts this type of dog has pulled and to what extremes you have had to go through to get them to stop. i have a craving for a Lakeland and aklways will, now if people just give me stories about them maybe i can feed that craving unitl owning a lakeland becomes a reality.
Thank You!!

we live in luton which is in bedfordshire england and we are looking for a lakeland terrier male dog,it does not matter if he is neutered as we want him only as a family pet,not to breed also as a companion for our deaf and timid old english sheepdog.we would prefer a younger dog and would also accept a "runt" puppy as in our opinion they ALWAYS turn out to be the best

I am in the 4 H with a german shepherd dog, and she is getting old and not enjoying it much anymore, I want a smaller dog, and I have seen a few Lakelands and I absolutly LOVE them. I want one quite badly, but my parents will not go for an outragous price nor a shipping fee. I live in Washington, in the Seattle area, and if anyone knows of a way to get me my Lakeland please contact me, it would really help me to succeed in my goal.
Thank You,

To Whom It May Concern: Ive been a proud owner of a lakeland terrier for 13 years. I lost her suddenly from which inturn allowed her heart to fail, after surgery.
She was an extreme joy in my families lives. We are having a difficult time finding this particular breed here in Florida. If anyone has any information regarding a female lakeland puppy, any info will be greatly appreciated. |

Thank you so much for your reply. I am sure that I mistakenly read your enthusiasm for the terrier breeds.
I appreciate your answer. Hopefully we can all be more considerate when writing in these forums. I am sure that I do not come across the best at times either.
Good Luck.

Hello ,
Well my friend kept the beauty appointment for her puppys ears, and it went very well. The puppy didnt even wince as much as giving it a vaccination. The beautician took every precaution for cleaniness etc. The ears are in a perfect position with the weight of the earrings, which are realatively small. We were told that as the puppy grows, there might be a chance of having to use a little bit heavier studs in order to accomplish our task. Of course, it could do the job in a minimal amount of time. Wouldnt that be great! The puppy doesnt seem to mind at all. She only shook her head once, and she looks darling. No ugly wraps of tape or ugly uncomfortable globs of glue, and virtually nothing for her to get her nails caught in. We had the beautician put some special backs on the earrings that wont irritate or fall off easily. The puppy has an appointment with the vet this afternoon just to make sure all is OK and see if we need any special antibotics. We intend to work clos |

My name is Lindsay Riley. I am in need of a lakeland puppy, ever since i first saw them i was in love with them. i am in the 4-h and have been for years. i am currently showing a german shepherd, but she is in need of retirerment. the only other option is to get a miniature schnuzer because a breeder lives nearby. i like mini schnauzers but they are not what i want. dont make me do something i dont want to please, especially when it comes to dogs. please, if you have any information for me it would be most helpful! thanx a million!

Hi Everyone,
Has anyone read the training book "Leader of the Pack"? What did you think of it? I tried some of the things in it and got wonderful results. I admit, some things seemed a little time consuming etc. but I think this book has the best ideas yet. Nothing you do to the dog "goes against the grain" so to speak, and there is no real physical force. I havent had a chance to try everything yet but what I have tried worked in no time at all. Lets hear your input......Nona |

I have a new puppy and her ears are starting to stand up a lot. She gets excited and they stand up more. I dont mind what she looks like, but people have told me that they should lay down more. Any suggestions of how I can make them stay down now....while she is still a puppy? I thought about piercing her ears and the small earrings would not only look cute, but they would keep her ears down. I have been told that this is cruel. Why can people pierce their newborn baby girls ears....but not their newborn puppy???? Guess I just dont get it.
Thanks for your help. |

Hello - I am interested in purchasing a Lakeland Terrier and live in the NY/NJ area. Would anyone know of a reputable breeder who comes recommended? Long term, I am considering a companion for this puppy and was thinking of purchasing a Jack Russell Terrier as well. Does anyone know if these breeds mix well? Additionally, sometimes a mix of one male and one female sometimes works better than having two of the same sex. Any insights here would be appreciated.
