Ear infections

Hi, My dog Emma is continually getting ear infections, the vet says that they are very common in Labs. I use Otomax continually, but it really is only a very short term fix. my lab girl also had recurrent ear infections (years and years and I also used otomax as well as various other concotions continuously. When I switched vets he prescribed a product called Surolan and the ears have been much improved.

i just took jake to find out why he flapps his ears all the time but nothing was wrong he did say that ear mites are very uncomom.dana

Hi,How are you?You can try Tree Tea Oil twice a day and will work wonders..Also,try Pro Plan Lamb and Rice or Science Diet formula to help her allergies..Also,baby oil will help kill some of the yeast.I know,some people say this is common in labradors but however this was a because she was based on a poor breeding.Allergies and may other factors runs in thier genetic make-up just like us.This could have been prevented by the breeder.However,this doesn\'t mean she is not a great companion.People please check on breeders before you buy.It can cost you less money in the long run for a quality lab by a true breeder that has a love for the labrador breed.Best of luck with your lab!!
