Soreness in my 2 yr old

My dog appears to get really sore after exercising with some degree of effort. She is still when getting up and appears somewhat arthritic. She's only 2 and her hips and such were cleared as a puppy but she hasn't been x-rayed in a while. Any idea on what this might be and what we should do about it? (She just went to the vet last month, before we noticed this). Perhaps we need to take her back.

I noticed the same thing with my 7 month old Lab. I took him to the vet and he said that hip displacement is common in labs and can show up quite early, He wasn't sure that was the problem as my dog is quite active and plays extremely rough with my bloodhound, he thinks that he may have just gotten sore. He said that if It continues that we need to run xrays on his hips. NOT what I wanted to hear. Is your dog big? Mine is 7 months and 73 pounds and he said it could be his size. He isn't fat at all, he's just BIG! I'm not sure if that helped any, I hope so, but I think if you have doubts, you should at least call your vet and see what he/she has to say about it. better safe than sorry! :) Good luck!!

Thanks for the response. She's not too big - 72 lbs full grown, and she's a very solid dog. We probably will get her into the vet pretty soon.

hi i just took mine to the vet also,his front leg after a hard run will be lame but not to point he can not put it down.my vet said just to wait and see and puppy growing pains which i had in my rottie will go away once they turn 1 year.he is 8 months and weighs 77lb.
