Ok here is the short of it. We went to a no kill shelter feel in love with a Stafforshire mix. Though I think she is alomst all Staffordshire as she has all of the beautiful features you would expect in a full blood.
She is 15 weeks old wich is pass the prime socilazation period. She does great with people so far as she is very playful. As for dogs It is hard to say she tries to play with all dogs but it seems a bit rough so we avoid it if possible. My question is should we keep her and try to raise her. The shelter gave us a week to decide as others want her as well. Here are my concerns.
1) We have no idea about bloodlines
2) I have not yet been able to establish an alpha realationship with her even in play at most she is passive submissive wich makes think she has been hit more then she should have been.
3) I am not sure how we will socialze her with other dogs as she is not allowed in many dog parks etc...
4) We do not have a fenced yard so she will not be able to run free or be outside unsupervised.
5) We both work 8-5 and my wife is going to be going back to school so are time will be spread thin.
Based on this I hope that someone can give me some practical advice as I am torn emotionaly. She is so smart and so beautiful. I love brindel pups =-) I know that the other adoptes have had dogs before and will give her at least as good a home as we can. Please someone give a newbe some advice. Is there anyway to indicate how a dogs temperment may be as an adult when she is a pup? Like I said we do not know her blood lines so I am not sure what to expect. If she is aggressive I fear my inexperience may cause her more harm then good.
