Hi. We are the Nichols family. We are looking for an outside dog with possible crate privileges in the garage at night. We live in Tehachapi CA (mountain community) on 2.5 acres fenced. We like hiking and are gearing up to do some backpacking now that our kids are able to walk long distances. Our kids are 6 and 8. We have no other animals yet but there are plenty of wild rabbits and ground squirrels on our property. We\'d like to start chickens in the next year or two. We are looking for a dog built for the outdoors and doesn\'t mind being alone part of the day. My husband doesn\'t want the puppy stage of any dog, so we are looking at rescued dogs. I am a stay at home mom, interested in a walking/hiking companion. Is the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog for us? |
