Extremely over protective

I have a 9 month female (spayed) puppy named Shilo, her protection drive is a little extreme. She has been socialized since she was 6 weeks old, with other people and dogs. We have two other dogs also who she gets along with great, shows no agression what so ever towards the other dogs. She is wonderful with my children but when we walk her she goes ballistic if there is a strange person or dog. It has gotten so bad we had to get a pinch collar just so I could walk her. She weighs 65lbs already. I know they are suppose to very proctective of members in their "pack" but wow. I tried to introduce her to my neighbor and then her dog, and she went nuts barking (never once left my side) it went on for like ten minutes. At first I thought she was afraid but she showed no signs of being afraid. She was not going to quit letting them know to stay away from me. She has never shown any agression towards anyone in the family, she displays all the submissive behavior towards us. I do feel safe with her but I don't want people to be afraid of her because she is a very sweet loving dog. She is okay with people inside the house. Does anyone have any suggestions on this?
