ok, i have been looking for a dog for the last few months , but the main isssue that keeps coming up is the amount of shedding. I am fully aware that all dogs shed some, but lets be real for a moment. I grew up with schnauzers, and you dont notice any shedding at all. Someone said the same of the WFT to me and i want some feedback. This could be the dog for me if this issue is resolved. please help out an ignoramous like me ...

WRITING CONCERNING A NEW PUPPY "WIRE HAIR FOX TERRIER".

MY INLAWS BOUGHT THE PUP FROM THE PET STORE IN THE MALL. THEY ARE GOOD ANIMAL FOLKS,AND HAVE HAD DOGS AND CATS FOR OVER 40 YRS.IM AFRAID THEY MIGHT OF GOT A PUPPY MILL PUP. THE DOG CAME FROM EUREAK SOUTH DAKOTA,THE BREEDERS NAME WAS SCOTT STROBEL,AND THE BROKER WAS COUNTRY MEADOWS. THE USDA# WAS 48A040....IVE RUN A HALF A DOZEN SEARCHES IN THIS ENDEAVOR TO NO AVAIL.IM HOPING THIS ISNT THE BROKER THAT WAS ON DATE LINE A MONTH AGO...MY INLAWS ARE IN THERE LATE 60S AND I HATE TO SEE THEIR HEARTS BE BROKE OVER A PET. ANY ANSWERS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED. I TO AM A DEVOTE PET LOVER HAVE 2 CATS AND A DOG. AND HOPEFULLY I CAN CONNECT WITH SOMEONE WHO SEES THIER PLIGHT. THANKS, MOE

As one active in Fox Terrier Rescue I would like to caution all who might respond to the offers of dogs for sale on this list to make very sure they are dealing with reputable breeders, not puppy millers or "backyard breeders" those who engage in breeding to "make extra money".

This is NOT a breed which should be bought from someone who has NOT done all the proper health checks, including breeding genetically healthy stock. It is NOT a breed to be bought from someone who does not prove the quality of his/her breeding stock by having them judged against the stock of his/her peers in legitimate competition. REPUTABLE breeders are concerned about where their puppies go...not just whether you have a checkbook and particularly be concerned about those wanting "cash only"...Im sure IRS is.

PLEASE, PLEASE consider whether this breed is the right one for your lifestyle and family. Dogs shouldnt be "disposable"...so make sure you buy intelligently and pay a fair price from a reputable

I have a Wire Fox pup that is 3 months old. Her tail seems to lay over her back a little too far, according to the AKC standard. I have heard that if you pet down the full length of the back and on to the tail, with a little extra pressure downwards on the tail, that it might stand up a little straighter. Has anyone tried this and did it work? If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know.
