Hey now...wolfdogs aren't unfit pets for *anyone*.
Like mals, wolfdogs are not for most people...they require a large amount of dedication on the part of their owner. And, yes, they need a whopper of a fence. But the reality of it is that they have almost the exact same queue of "bad habits" that sibes & mals have: independent, stubborn, headstrong, hard to train, escape artists, diggers, climbers, destructive, etc. In fact, they don't have *any* bad habits that aren't present in some other dog breed.
Wolves & wolfdogs are more shy, intense, and demonstrative than northern breeds...and more "pushy". They require a firm, clear alpha...or they will take over. Other than that...pretty darn close to mals as far as "the bad stuff" is concerned.
Most of the hype you hear about wolf crosses is just plain untrue. (I have a houseful of them, I should know. *grin*) Anyone who is interested in learning more could visit

for starters, they have a great site comprised of real wolfdog owners. :)
