Our male English Springer Spaniel(whom we got from a very reputable breeder)is 1 year old.He was neutered at about 6 months old. Our problem is, that he has seperation anxiety. He has beeen like this since we've had him at 14 weeks old. We can't crate him, because he gets so upset,we are afraid he will hurt himself. He always has a bowel movement in the crate and makes a mess with it. He has bent the crate wires with his teeth, and the bottom tray is usually slid all the way out of the crate when we come home. We have given up on the crate and baracade him in the kitchen breakfast room area.No matter how much we puppy proof before we leave him,he always finds something to destroy while we are gone. We are at our wits end.Does anyone have any suggestions? Or has anyone tried medication for this problem, and how did it work? Please give us some help.
