We just rescued a little 1-year-old chihuahua mix from a local shelter. She was in heat when surrendered; so she was just spayed 3 days ago, and we brought her home yesterday. She is a little love muffin and we are sure she will socialize easily, she loves her "big sister" and she's eating pretty well.
But she didn't urinate till evening and not where she should have and after a decent walk. Then soiled her crate (pee) without hesitation this morning seconds after breakfast, (and after being taken outside twice) and STILL hasn't pooped after nearly 20 hours.
Her past housebreaking, which doesn't seem to exist, is a mystery, so any suggestions are welcome and we realize it will take time.
currently she's being secluded in the kitchen with newspaper, her bed and food/water. hopefully it might work. she is scheduled for a vet visit tomorrow.
Any suggestions? |
