Hi, i bought a chihuahua and really had a bad experience buying from the a certain breeder in KY. How can i go about letting other people know about my experience? Are forums the way to go or is there somewhere else where i need to share my story.

for the past 2 weeks my chihuahua seems to depressed, but i really dont know. she always lays and sleeps with my wife and i. but now she want to lay in corners and under tables. we did not change her diet and we always play with her. if anybody knows please help

hi all, my female chi just mated successfully with another chi about a week ago, but since then, we found a very small amount of black discharge from her vagina every other day; and we're taking about a really small amount. we suspect it is blood clot, but if it is, what causes it? my chi doesn't seem to be in any pain or discomfort; has anyone seen this before??? thx in advance! al

Hi, I am adopting a 6yr old male Chi this week. He is the sweetest dog I have ever met but being a rescue dog he does have some issues that need dealing with. If you can offer any advice I would appreciate it. He has to be the center of attention. He will run from one person to the next and want to be picked up and petted. I don't mind this at all of course but if one person is holding him and another tries to pet him or take him away he will growl. It is as though he is protecting the person holding him and is worried that he is going to lose that person's attention. If he is sitting with you and someone else is petting another animal he will get very jealous and run over to the other animal and bark and nip at it. This won't be a problem when I get him because I don't have any other animals or children but I would like to help him deal with this problem. Also he is food possessive and will growl or bite if you come near his bowl or even walk by him. I have read about this problem and have a pretty good idea of how to help fix it. Can anyone recommend what type of food to feed him and how much? He weighs about 5.5 pounds. The foster Mom is feeding him lamb and rice Purina. Has anyone tried litter box training a Chi? I was given a 3 year old chihuahua by a friend. I brought him home 2 days ago and he has been under a table ever since and is not eating. He will bite if I try to pet or touch him. Is this normal behavior and how long will it take for him to warm up? I'm worried that he is not eating. Please help. Thanks

My Pip has welts that appear on his head. They will stay for about a half an hour, and then go away. This will happen off and on throughout the day. I have washed his bed, and him also. And I have taken away the bone I had given to him before this all started. But he got a welt on his nose, and it has stayed. He has had it for about 5 days now. I am going to the vet tomorrow with him. But I just want to see if any of you might know what this could be. Thanks for any help you can give. Francine @ Pippen

11 months ago I moved into a house with parvo, but I didn't know it and my puppy died. but now it's 11 months later and I've bleach everything, and the puppy I want has it's first shots...so it's been 11 months, the house has been bleached and it has shots...should I still wait?

I have two chihuahuas. I've recently moved to a house with no gated yard and started working a 12 hr. night shift. I have had trouble figuring out what to do with them. They cannot be left alone in the house. The last time I did that, I had to replace one of the floors. Right now a friend cares for them at night, but she can only do that for another month. I was considering buying an 6'x6' covered outdoor kennel and a patio heater for when it gets cold. Please let me know what you think of this idea, or if you have any other suggestions.

I hve a 5 1/2 mo female, my vet says if I do not breed her I need to get her fixed before her first heat. I know for cats once you have them fixed ( especialy males) they seem to settle down, but for dogs at least in my own experience seem to still be high strung after they are fixed, but for some reason the females calm a bit after having a litter. is this true?

Hello, today i spayed my 8 month old chihuahua. She threw up a few times after i brought her home at about 5pm. Its now about 12:00am and she urinated a pink color, which im assuming is blood. Should I be alarmed? She seems to be acting fine now. Thanks for any help, Todd

We just rescued a little 1-year-old chihuahua mix from a local shelter. She was in heat when surrendered; so she was just spayed 3 days ago, and we brought her home yesterday. She is a little love muffin and we are sure she will socialize easily, she loves her "big sister" and she's eating pretty well. But she didn't urinate till evening and not where she should have and after a decent walk. Then soiled her crate (pee) without hesitation this morning seconds after breakfast, (and after being taken outside twice) and STILL hasn't pooped after nearly 20 hours. Her past housebreaking, which doesn't seem to exist, is a mystery, so any suggestions are welcome and we realize it will take time. currently she's being secluded in the kitchen with newspaper, her bed and food/water. hopefully it might work. she is scheduled for a vet visit tomorrow. Any suggestions?

my chi has a habit of crying, but not all the time. when she gets a sock or my sons headband, she will carry it around and cry. she is not in pain and her ears are up, but she whines and crys and i am wonderin why. any ideas? thanks... chichis mom

I've been blessed to have been involved in the lives of 3 chihuahuas. My current ittle guy - Shadow - can sometimes be a challenge. Mostly, emotional. First of all, he's epileptic. But, we've managed to "control" his seizures without barbituates - thankfully. My real question here to all Chihuahua owners is this - on a daily basis, Shadow will separate himself from his (human) family in some other room and howl/cry. He has a "baby" (one of those fleece men) that he's had since we brought him home - usually, his baby is with him when he does this. And, unless we come seek him out - he will cry endlessly. Certainly, we are part of the problem. But, he even has little tears - I am tender hearted and can't stand to let him cry alone. I lost another Chi to Lyme - broke my heart. Is it possible for a chihuahua to get a broken ear? My baby Jingles is 3 1/2 months old and she has one ear that has started drooping and she won't hold it straight up, like it should be. I am open to any suggestions to help get my to babies back on the right track. Which is indoor use of either potty pads or potty box. I have to female chi's six months old. When I first got them they were almost paper trained but due to circumstances beyond my control things have gotten totally messed up. With the operative word here being MESS. They will even go in their bed that they sleep on. As well as anywhere else they happen to be. I don't think it is an emotional problem I think it is training and scent that is promoting this. The only thing I can think of is to some how board them out of our home for a week or so and have everything steam cleaned and start from scratch after they come back but this seems so drastic. Hi, I don't really think anyone is going to help me here but hey, it's worth a try, My best friend is very sick and has been since January, about 3 months ago, she has always loved large dogs and never wanted a smaller dog, due to where she moved, she wasn't able to have a larger dog, so we bought her a teacup chihuahua to keep her company she immediately fell in love with Chico, and 3 days later it was stolen out of her home, then 4 days later we bought another one for $500 and within 3 weeks the puppy died of parvo, we were not able to get our money back, and now we have a $363.00 vet bill for shots and treatment, this has been very depressing for her, due to the vet bills for both of these puppies we can not afford another puppy, and she can't afford one because of her medical bills due to having no insurance and can't get any companies to insure her with her condition, So therefore I am trying to find someone who is generous enough to understand her love for animals and donate her a puppy, We are not by any means trying to run a scam or use the puppy for breeding or anything like that, in fact we are asking for puppies with no papers, colors or marks that make them impropper show dogs,runts, ect. If you can help my friend and her 3 year old son, please let me know. I know this is alot to ask and I know that chihuahuas are very expensive and worth alot of money , but my friend's happiness is worth so much to me that I want her to be able to have a companion that is there for her at all times. My 3 year old male Chihuahua suddenly stopped eating!! He's been to the vet twice, is losing weight, had everything checked, and they can find nothing wrong!! The only thing we can get him to eat is meat, but we're afraid to give him too much because won't that keep him from starting back on his food? Is this normal for Chihuahaus? We're very concerned because it's been over a week now and we just don't know what to do. He's been given an appetite stimulant to begin tonight, but he can't stay on that forever, can he? We adopted a 4-mo old male pup last week. He was OK for the first couple of days, playful, eating, etc. Last couple of days, he just mopes around, sleeps most of the day, won't play or eat unless hand-fed cheese or chicken.
