Both can cause it.
Try Super-FLX horse powder, available through KV Vet Supply in Nebraska. Ask for the master catalogue to order it.
Tel: 1-800-423-8277 or
www.kvvet.com
That stuff works woners and is better than any other dog remedy we found. Give it a try, it is awesome.
We give it to every dog, at every age group every day, we do not have any problems with joints, hips or ligaments, even with our seniors.

Hi...I have what is probably a silly question for anyone knowledgeable in the mastiff family. What kind of dog is Hooch, from the movie with Tom Hanks, 'Turner & Hooch'? The closest I can tell is a Bullmastiff, but not quite for some reason. Is he some kind of weird cross? Either way he's adorable =) Thanks! |

we purchased a bull mastiff in oct., 2000. The, now 1 year old, mastiff developed a limp. We have gotten conflicting information re: the problem. Some vet's tell us it was hereditary and not to breed her and others state it was caused by an injury. They are classifying the problem as elbow dysplasia. Will this problem become worse over time and will she develop arthritis because of it? Please help/.. |

The Bullmastiff
Bullmastiffs created with brains and brawn
United in shades of Red,Brindle and Fawn.
Loyalty reaching from deep in thier soul
Love so strong it makes them bold.
Much is not written about our breed
A big disappointment I must concede.
Standing vigilent,strong as stone
Totally devoted to his family and home.
It is our duty to Love and Protect them
From those whod harm or disrespect them.
Friend or companion, show dog or pet
Surely you see why Bullys are BEST !!!

Sleeping Bully
by Echobigdog
Bully sleeping on my couch
Up-side down and tounge hung out
Lay with all fours in the air
Lump of muscle with light fawn hair
Most likely dreams of being fed
And wishing she were in my bed.
Snoring rates an eight point o
Tip of tail moves to and fro
I thought I saw her paw twitch
Faint whimper now escapes her lips.
Four paws up and tounge hung out
Sleeping Bully on my couch.

I know bigger dogs are more prone to hip displaysia, but he is still a puppy and Im wondering if they are going to have a hip problem with this dog-it just seems like he is getting hurt too easily-plus Ive noticed that his back is really arched-if this sounds familiar to anyone please let me know! |

I took Maggie (my 13 1/2 month old bully) to the vet for routine f/u and to discuss her timidness. The vet recommended a behavioralist. Does anyone have any experience with a behavioralist, b/c I am concerned that she may be over prescribing. She said something about shy or timid dogs having the tendancy to bite-which Maggie has never done. She also ruled out a thyroid problem. Thanks!! |

My bullmastiff is a 13 month old female who seems to be very timid. We got her as a pupy and she was not traumatized by any specific incident that I can think of, but she tucks tail and hides any time she is near any dog-no matter what size. She also gets scared very easily by trucks, people, even myself and my husband. Has any one had this "problem"? Will she out grow this? I would rather have her err on the timid side, then the aggressive side, but shes a little too chicken-any pointers?? |

A friend of mine has a female Mastiff. They have recently purchased a male Bull Mastiff and intend to breed the two. I said I may be interested in a pup (I currently have Great Danes)but no little about the Mastiff breed. Can anyone out there tell me what the difference is between an English/Bull and just simply Mastiff. Also, if you breed an English Mastiff to a Bull Mastiff, do you have an AKC registered dog, or a mix breed?
Thanks. |
