yeah, i've got plenty of pics and i'm sure i could get them scanned sometime. the litter i got mine from was an accident. we "knew" the rott and the pit, so i felt fairly confident in my ability to handle it. also, since we had a pure bred pit from the same mother and my sister's boyfriend had the brother, both of whom turned out with good temperments, it was much less risky since we knew she had a good temperment and other pups she had did also. when i first brought him home, i could have sworn he was demon possesed. he is now a very well mannered dog and has shown no signs of aggression towards any human even in crowds of strangers the only time he seems to get annoyed is if it's just me and him and a group of people are being loud and he does not see them coming, but all he does then is bark. even other dogs, since he lives with three females, he does fine with. i am pretty sure i will have to watch him around other males though that come on too strongly since so far in certain situations. he hasn't fought but would gladly "get down" if another male dog was too pushy. but hey, that's just the breed in him. What I try to do is just see situations before he does and socialize as well as possible to keep it under control. if you look on pbrc.net, they have a pit/rott mix and i've seen them on several other sites too. to the ego maniacs out there, yeah, i'm sure that sounds like the ultimate dog for you to mix, but don't get carried away trying to create the meanest dog you can. It’s stupid, AND they might not even turn out as nasty as you’d like. i see my mix as a dog. just a dog. i don't need to walk around with my big bad pit bull rott mix. although everybody who sees him says he IS a cool looking dog.... |
