eye problem with ab

I have a 5 month old male ab. We took him to the Vet for the monthly routine, we noticed the ab had been barking at us so i mentioned this to the Vet. He looked into the ab's eyes and said he had an eye disorder called hyper reflective, a genetic disorder. Has anyone heard this disorder and is it common in the ab breed?
