Rescue! This dog was found in an empty doghouse one morning in the city of Askov in Minnesota. He was impounded by the city, and is due to die today, as his 10 days are up. My vet, who is supposed to put him down, is holding off to give me a chance to find him a new home. The new owner needs to be able to pick him up in Askov, which is in East Central Minnesota and be able to prove to have a good home for him. Jed is about 3-4 years old and appears to be an American Bulldog. He is not neutered and was born with one blind eye. (the eye with the brindle patch). The vet will give you a good discount on neutering if you choose to neuter. Jed also has a large neck wound which is being treated by the vet. The wound was caused by his collar growing into his neck. He has been at the vet's for ten days and has shown no signs of any kind of aggression. The vet has a male pitbull as a pet there and they play like buddys. Lots of other animals there as well. He is friendly and outgoing with an even temperament. Although he must have been kept on a chain and broke loose, he is house trained. All and all he is a lovely sweet dog with a nice temperament who would make someone a great pet. Dear friend I have a genuine doubt about rabies. I would like to know whether the dog, which has vaccinated antirabby, is safe from rabies. Some of the doctors told me we have to vaccinate again if the dog is bitten by a rabid animal. If it is so what is the use of antirabby vaccine. Is the rabies is originated from the body of dogs itself, without contact of rabid animal, bats, or raccoons. Some people say if vaccinated a dog antirabby, it will not show the symptoms of rabies though its affected rabies. Is it true? Please reply

Aetius is doing great except for that he is too big for his penis and we have to clean his area out so it doesn't get infected! He is 25 pounds and 13 weeks old, so the vet is hoping his penis catches up at some point. She said that we shouldn't have him nuetered until late so that the hormones can keep working and help him get larger down there. Any one hear of this before? Let me know! The problem causes Aetius to feel like he has to pee and he will stop 4 to 5 times and squat to pee everytime we take him out. He pees in the house too because he has the pressure of having to go all the time.

We are the proud new owners of a male 9 1/2 week old Am Bulldog. Aetius is being crate trained and is doing pretty well with it. I work part time and we have two kids a 4 year old and a 6 month old. Our household is fairly busy and Aetius is very good with the kids so far. He does try to bite our clothes and sometimes our hands and feet so we say no and give him one of his toys - looking for any thoughts on how to curb this so our kids can interact more with Aetius. Also he seems to be sad - missing his litter mates - when will this begin to fade? We have had him only 4 days so far but he doesn't seem to be getting happier yet. He is VERY attached to me and needs me to be in his sight at all times or he cries or barks. Will this fade soon? He gets a lot of attention and we run with him in our fenced in backyard so he gets a lot of both exercise and love. He also itches a lot. I am bringing him to the vet tomorrow but wondered if anyone knew of any common allegies in Am Bulldogs? He was purchased from a reputable breeder and shipped to us via airplane. Please give us any advice you may have on Am Bull puppies. Thanks!

I have a 5 month old male ab. We took him to the Vet for the monthly routine, we noticed the ab had been barking at us so i mentioned this to the Vet. He looked into the ab's eyes and said he had an eye disorder called hyper reflective, a genetic disorder. Has anyone heard this disorder and is it common in the ab breed?

I have an american bulldog in grand rapids michigan that I am looking to place in a very good home with lots of love and lots of room. I have a one puppy in an other wise very colorful litter.

He is really beautiful. It is too early too tell what his temperment is, or if he will get spots. I am concerned if he should be bred later??? My Vet implied that the all white

dogs had skin and thyroid and possibly other problems. I would appreciate input on this as I want to keep a male...but not if he cant be bred.email asap. thanks.

If there is no pigment in the eyes what type of problems could arise from this and what are the long term health problems.

we have an american bulldog pup, 14 weeks old, my question is that i know there suppose to be protective, but when does this set in? Ive had people come in my yard and she would just lie there and asleep.She sometimes seems afraid of other people. Will she in time become protective, or is there something i should do to help her be a good watch dog, and protect us? Thanks for your input

My cousin has the most lovable American Bulldog. I would love to get this breed, but her dog sheds so bad that I dont think that I could handle so much shedding. Is shedding a common problom among American Bulldogs.

Are american bulldogs often mistaken for pit bulls?? They are two completely different kinds of dogs arent they? Hi, i have an a.b. whos 6 and 1/2 months old. I wondered when she is ready to be breed, if any of you have any suggestions for me of how to go about getting her breed.I have heard of this being done across the states, what does that entail, and how do i go about it? Also, her left ear always stays back, is there a way i can fix it or will it correct itself? The other one always stays folded, but the left one is always as if she hears something, its always back. Looking for a puppy for spring 2001. At that time, my 5 kids will be ages 2 - 12 years. Would like a dog w/ a great temperament - trustworthy w/ kids - doesnt bite or jump all over them (I know some of this is training). Obviously a busy household - intend to take as much time as I can w/ the puppy but I will certainly be limited by other demands. Want a dog that is fairly low maintenance - not a ton of grooming, shedding, slobber. Want a dog that is faithful and protective - - but that will allow other kids in the yard to play. A dog that will bark when a stranger approaches but is not constantly barking. Would like a dog that will tag w/ the kids on their bikes - - athletic, obedient, protective. Ideally, a dog that is mellow indoors but will run and play outdoors without plowing the kids over. Live in suburban Boston w/ a good size yard. Would love a dog that can tolerate playing outside in New Engl winters and summers.

I love her and would take her myself, but I am going back to college next month and cannot have a dog there. We have an american bulldog, 10 weeks old, she is biting the kids (playfully) but has very sharp teeth!! Also, she is chewing stuff in the house, i trie the bitter apple stuff, but it doesnt seem to work long.

Also, does anybody have any idea how long i can expect to housebreak her?Weve had her 2 weeks, and shes now 10 weeks.
