Catahoula Leopard Dog Forum:
catahoula and cats.HELP!!!!

Hi,I just got a 5yr old female Catahoula at the pound. I have no info about her past,except she is well behaved in general.We have 2 cats and the dog lunges at them sometimes.They are kept separetely when not supervised,otherwise we keep her leashed and under scrutiny.What can I do to have them all live in peace?Will I ever be able to trust my completely around my "babies"?I love them all,and want to keep all of them.Thanks.

Hi. I have a 4 yr. old male catahoula. He also lunges at our cat, but has never mouthed her. Does your dog try to bite the cats? I think its Cals way of playing? Hope all turns out well!
