I am interested in getting a young adult Havenese for a service dog. I have a heart condition, which sometimes causes me to pass out without any warning. I would like a dog that would stay with me during an episode in public--making them less scary--and to alert others by barking if I have an episode while alone. A small dog that could go everywhere with me would be best. I do not drive so it would need to go with me on mass transit. I think it would be a wonderful situation for both the dog and myself. S/he would be getting a free Ivy League education, since it would attend classes at Brown with me. Thanks.

Looking for sable havanese pups anywhere in the U.S, although I live in NJ. Haven't seen many on web sites I visited. Anyone know of anyone who has any litters?

A breeder wants $2,000 for a female sable puppy, with justifiably good breed lines (she shows most dogs). Normally asks $1,850 for non sable females. I could accept $1,500 I have read about but for a pet too high?

Our sweet lil Abigail "Abbie" has been a wonderful addition to our family! We are a bit concerned with her potty patterns. Each morning we remover her from her crate and take her out and she will go tinkle 2 or 3 times, we then bring her in and play with her for a couple of hours and feed her, then take her back out and again she will go tinkle 1 or 2 times and #2 once. We then return her to her crate for a few hours while we work in our shop. In the evenings she will be in our room with us and "need" to go our like every 15 minutes! If we dont take her out she will squat(at which time we say a firm "NO") when we take her out she does go each time at least once(at which time we praise her). Our concern is that she has some type of infection or something. Do puppies (16 wks) need to go out this often? She will last all night in her crate without making a mess. HELP... Im lost on this and worried about Abbie.

Last month my 10 month old pup was rushed to the animal hospital twice with profuse rectal bleeding. It happened again last week to a lesser degree. tests were all negative. has anyone had the same problem? can anyone shed some light on this? any info would be greatly appreciated.

What is the average cost of a female havanese? Age: Puppy up to about 3 years... ? I have absolutely no idea, and need to know if I should purse this breed as a pet or not. I know some breeds can cost 1000s of dollars, and Im not willing to pay that much... help please... :)

We adopted a dog around six years ago in Houston. She was found in a burned down house covered in soot. All her fur come off in one piece, and at the time we got her it was difficult to decipher her breed. We have been told on several occasions that she is a Havenese and she bears a resemblence to pictures and personality descrtiptions. She has a pink tummy. Is there a sure-fire way to tell if she is truly a pure-bred havenese? I read at one point a long time ago that there was a breeder in Spring,Texas and she was found abandoned near that vicinity of Houston. Please e-mail and post your responses if possible.

Our little pup Abbie is a cream colour with the ears being a bit darker cream than the body. She is 15 weeks old and we were wondering what to expect as far as colour when she is full grown. Anyone know anything about the colour changes of the Havanese?

Well... we finally found a puppy! She is 15 weeks old and wonderful! Each day she does something else to make our day brighter! I cant for the life of me understand why anyone would chose any other breed! Our little bundle of joy is named Abigail we call her "Abbie", she is so quick to pick up anything new. She was flown in from Canada for us and came through chipper as ever, within 5 min of picking her up we knew that we would protect and cherish her forever!

After much research, we have decided to get a Havanese puppy. The breed of dog is exactly what we are looking for. I live in NJ and would prefer a breeder within a reasonable range, so I can drive to see the puppies. But anyone I hear from I will respond to. Please respond with info on puppies, availibility, location and cost.

Im having a difficult time finding puppies available. Any advice on puppy or young adult havanese search? We would like a puppy for a pet. It would be going to the best home but were finding the search very hard. Are puppies only born at certain times of the year or have we just been looking in the wrong places. Looking for a havanese puppy will consider all colors except black. I live in Illinois.

I purchased a one-year old (potty trained) ha, ha, havanese. He is so sweet. He knows to tinkle outside but I think he did "odd jobs around the house" for the year before I got him. I just dont know what to do. I love him and enjoy him so much but cant tolerate this behavior. Someone please give me some pointers. Thanks
