My boyfriend and I currently own a 4 year old great dane/boxer/shepard mix, a 5 year old basset hound, and 2 cats (1 year and 2 years). We've talked about getting another dog when we move into a bigger apartment or small house with a yard. He loves boxers, so that's what I'm looking for. Male preferred, who doesn't demand alpha status (I know that can be card to find in a boxer), and won't completely terrorize my cats. If anyone knows of rescue groups in NC, let me know. Please do some research before you "stud" out dogs or breed your bitches. Here's a great link for information: http://www.pro-boxers.com/breeding.html . Ethical reputable breeders only breed to improve the breed...not for money or because someone says they have nice dogs or because it'a a good experience. Most of the boxers in shelters & rescues were bred by "hobby breeders". If you have a true love for the boxer breed, please read the articles in the link that was posted.

Well my story starts about 15 years ago when my dad's boxer was subject to Cancer :o( and passed away, when i was only 3. Well now i'm graduating High School, and i've researced this breed for about 4 months from adobting to rescuing. My dad asked me what i would like as a graduation gift and i was like a Boxer pup, and he told me sorry you just can't have one since i'm starting college in the fall. Well i kept on the subject for the 4 months that i was researcing, i would leave #'s on his cell phone of breeders that i had talked to, to news articles that i had found. I thought that it was hopeless that i would not get a pup for graduation, but to my suprise my dad showed up @ graduation with a boxer pup, it was the happiest day of my life, (other then getting my 2 cats) my 1st one passed away 2 years ago she was 8. So i've been takeing care of my pup and my cat, i love my furbabies to death!!! Would never give them up and i'm also taking on the challenge of college!!! I have a male boxer that i'm going to stud in about a year, though my grandmother says that once I breed him, that he will start to pee all over things and want to "hump" everything in site, is this true??
