Hi, I have never posted a message but I just don't know who to ask so I hope you can help me. I had a litter of pups. They all were sent on their way to their new families with their health certificates and shots/wormings etc. at 8-9 weeks old. They are 12 weeks old now. Three out of the six have called to report that the pup has mange. The new owner's vet said it is transmitted from the mother to the babies but I do not see any lesions on my female. I took her to the vet and he says she doesn't have it. My questions are: Will all six get this? Should my female be removed from the breeding program? Will all her future puppies have this should I choose to not remove her from the program? I have sent the new owners half of the cost of the pup back to them to help offset the treatment expense. Is that a fair amount? I want to be totally above board with all of this. Help! Thanks.

how do they get the smooth coat on the collie what other breed was it bred with to give it the smooth coat?

All collie owners should read the ad that was posted under the German Shorthair Board site on the subject "Poop Can Kill". You will be appauled! It is in reference to a collie.

I am considering a puppy for my family. I am wondering if any experienced smooth collie owner could tell me if they would definitely recommend this breed for small children?

Also, to what degree does a smooth collie shed?
