Hi, potty training a little Bouvier is simple, but requires vigilance. At first you must make sure to take the pup out often, at least once every 2 hours and say go potty or pee or whatever term you wish to use. Be consistent and vigilant. If you see the pup circling around or sniffing in the house, take it out immediately and encourage it to go. In a crate, there is not much you can do but try to ex it before you place it in the crate. My put from 8 weeks on was able to go through the night, but woke up at 5:30 am whimpering and I hastened us both out.
Never scold your puppy for soiling but if you catch it in the process, scoop it up and say go---- outside and take it out.
To get a pup to say I want to go out by a bark or a noise, when you know it wants to go out and is standing at the door which they learn to do quicky, play with it and tease it and say do you want to go out? Do you? Do you want to go "what term you use" until it really has to go and makes a noise, |
