The first year with a puppy is quite similar to the first year with a new baby--they tend to get lots of little problems because their immune systems aren\'t fully developed. It's to be expected. This should be considered when taking on the responsibility of owning a pet.
Young puppies are FREQUENTLY infected with coccidia and often develop active Coccidiosis -- even puppies obtained from DILIGENT, RESPONSIBLE, REPUTABLE, PROFESSIONAL breeders. Infected puppies almost always have received the parasite from their mother's feces. Typically, healthy adult animals shedding the parasite\'s oocysts in their feces will be asymptomatic because of their developed immune systems. **However, undeveloped immune systems make puppies more susceptible.** Further, stressors such as NEW OWNERS, TRAVEL, WEATHER CHANGES, AND UNSANITARY CONDITIONS are believed to activate infections in susceptible animals.
Symptoms in young dogs are universal: at some point around 2-3 months of age, an infected dog develops persistently loose stools. This diarrhea proceeds to stool containing liquid, thick mucus, and light colored fecal matter. As the infection progresses, spots of blood may become apparent in the stool, and sudden bowel movements may surprise both dog and owner alike. Coccidia infection is so COMMON that any pup under 4 months old with these symptoms can almost surely be assumed to have coccidiosis.
Fortunately, the treatment is INEXPENSIVE, EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE, AND ROUTINE. A veterinarian can easily diagnose the disease through low-powered microscopic examination of an affected dog's feces, which usually will be replete with oocysts. |

Bouvier Des Flandres: illegal sex club
|
Posted Date: 2003-02-18 21:29:15 By: sparrow2003
ozzy osbourne involved with secret sex club?
ozzy osbourne is involved with a secret illegal sex club ring that involves the pushing of innocent women into sex and maybe even exploitation of young girls (as young as twelve years old) with the use of illegal implantation of transmitters by the (cia) government to use hypnosis and even torture to persuade women to exploit themselves and/or have sex with them.
this sex ring is not only immoral but they also endanger the health and lives of these women until they give in or become fat and unhealthy. they use many different methods of torture, such as putting them in pain, causing phony asthma attacks, ruining their skin, and interfering with their normal routine in life, ensuring failure at these women's endeavors. he tells the women afterwards, even if they have been tortured, humiliated and brutally treated for as long as twenty years, that he doesn't give a crap and they even threaten them with medical problems as serious as heart attacks. all because these women have been raised well enough that they will not give in to being prostitutes for the rich and beligerent famous.
their excuse for this is that they are to old to infatuate too many good looking women and they want to use the transmitters to fool the women into thinking they are in love with them because they don't want women that are just going to have sex with them for their money.

I recently purchased a Bouvier from Briarlea Kennels in Wisconsin. I bought him home and he had coccidiosis. At eight months my dog has CHD. He’ll need the TPO. His parents are Cadette Briarlea , "Gail", and Restless Robin. I informed the breeder, Sunny Dejong. I certainly would never breed my Bouvier, but Sunny Dejong continues to breed his parents. I believe this is unethical

I am interested in the Bouvier des Flandres breed of dog. Any information concerning health and temperament complications toward which this breed may have a predisposition will be appreciated. Dont sugar-coat anything. I need the honest truth. Problems such as hip dysplasia, skin allergies, cataracts, and tendencies toward vicious behavior patterns are all of particular regard. I also need to know how well a Bouvier can tolerate warm, humid weather. Thank You |

Bouvier Des Flandres: how hypoallergenic are they?
|
Posted Date: 2000-04-10 01:07:00 By: jeff
hi,
i first saw a bouvier des flandres being walked at a park on the east river in manhattan a few years ago, it was so fat it looked like a little bear. i had to go ask the owner what kind of dog it was, it was so distinct. i was quite interested.
my fiance is a wonderful girl, but she has a problem with allergies. dogs included. her family has always kept toy poodles and she has had no allergy problems with them. im guessing that because the bouvier is a significantly larger dog, it might present more of an allergy problem. is this the case? would she be ok if we had a bouvier for a pet? id be very interested in hearing back from anyone with knowledge in this area. especially any firsthand information.
thanks in advance for your help,
jeff |

|
Posted Date: 2000-07-29 07:52:00 By: Kathy
The Bouv. is NOT a hypoallergenic breed. Literature says it is low shed. If you own one or go to a show or breeders home, you will see they do shed and their hair sticks to carpets and contact lens. If you can find Pam Greens DONT buy a Bouvier article READ it. There are very few hypoallergenic breeds. You might try Standard Poodle, Kerry Blue Terrier, Bedlington Terrier, Bichon, Crested or Xolo. Good Luck |
Bouvier Des Flandres: re: Potty Training!
|
Posted Date: 2000-07-27 10:16:00 By: phelia
Hi, potty training a little Bouvier is simple, but requires vigilance. At first you must make sure to take the pup out often, at least once every 2 hours and say go potty or pee or whatever term you wish to use. Be consistent and vigilant. If you see the pup circling around or sniffing in the house, take it out immediately and encourage it to go. In a crate, there is not much you can do but try to ex it before you place it in the crate. My put from 8 weeks on was able to go through the night, but woke up at 5:30 am whimpering and I hastened us both out.
Never scold your puppy for soiling but if you catch it in the process, scoop it up and say go---- outside and take it out.
To get a pup to say I want to go out by a bark or a noise, when you know it wants to go out and is standing at the door which they learn to do quicky, play with it and tease it and say do you want to go out? Do you? Do you want to go "what term you use" until it really has to go and makes a noise, |
