I just bought a afghan puppy. It was recommended that she only be fed 2.5 cups of lamb and rice food per day. She seems so very hungry all the time, but I was warned about afghans gaining weight. I had an afghan about ten years ago that we allowed to eat every bite he wanted and he never gained an ounce. My heart is breaking, I feel like Im starving her. I need advice! I also do not know what type of brush is best not to damage her coat.

Im looking for some information or suggestions on some "pee" pants or leggings for my male afghan hounds. It seems like a constant struggle keeping them clean--especially just prior to showing.

I have done research on this breed and I am aware of the time and work required. However, I live in Valdosta GA and I cannot seem to find any breeders in my area. Also, I am not sure of what the price for a pet dog would be. I am not interested in showing my dog, I just want a companion. These dogs are absolutely beautiful and great companions! My blonde afghan is 13 - We have had him since he was 1yr old - I just want to let all you people out there know who realy want one of these dogs - THEY ARE TONS OF WORK!! People get very "hooked" on how beautiful these animals are - But you must be prepared to spend alot of time on grooming and general care and excercise - THESE DOGS COULD RUN!!

I can personally vouch - they make a great friend! But please dont buy one if your not prepared to realy be there 100% - Ive seen it happen so many times...Good Luck
