Hello everyone! I am new here and I have a 3 year old bc. She gets lots of exercise around here but I would love to take her herding someday. The problem is we don't live on enough land for sheep. I hope my question isn't too silly but I was wondering if there was any type of place that would let your dog heard for like a day. Preferably in south Florida (or at least somewhere in Florida). I love seeing her have fun and I think she would really enjoy running around chasing sheep. Thanks for any help or ideas! -Gary-

I rescued her from a neglectful situation where Katie was tied up on a small chain and was unable to be fed due to no finances. She killed a chicken so she needs a home where she is free to roam. She seems ok with other dogs and cats and from what I have seen, kids. Needs a lot of attention to know she is doing ok. Very eager to learn and follow directions. Hi, I thought some of you on here would be able to help me. I rescued a 9 month old tri color male border collie from an auction. The guy that had him there was yelling at him even kicking him, to top it all off while the guy was driving home the crate fell off his truck getting on the highway(lucky it was on the ramp and the dog wasent badly injured. He ducks down when you try to pet him and even when you talk to him. I dont know what to do! Ive never even been around one of these dogs let alone know how to act around this poor abused pup! He is so thin! Please give many any info you have. I want to keep this dog forever, I have an aussi so I know how much these dogs love to play.

I have a 7 month old boarder collie who is always itching, we have been to the vet and been told many things. Could be the food, which we changed, could be the grass in our yard, we have no grass, could be fleas, she has no fleas. We have tried skin conditor, shampoo and antibotics from the vet. I have a Chinook (Sled Dog) who is 17 months old. He is itching constantly. I took him to the vet but that wasn't very helpful. I am giving him Fatty Acid capsules for the itching. They don't seem to be doing much good. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have an 11 month old Border Collie who needs to have Hip Surgery. She has been diagnosed with Canine Hip Dysplasia. I am working with the Border Collie Rescues in my area to get Donations for the Surgery because I am not financially able to get her help, but I am not willing to give up on her. I filled out the form to be listed as a breeder of Border Collies. When I checked to see if my posting went through....much to my horror I found that the computer had posted false information. I do NOT ship my pups..... I've been in Border Collies for over 20 years and I DO NOT BREED SHOW DOGS!!!!! I'm wondering if there is anyway that this could be changed on my breeder listing. Someone please tell me how to fix this, as I don't want false information to mislead people. Donna

We have a 7 month old border collie, who barks all the time when he is outside. He is a house dog so is not outside all the time but as soon as he goes out he starts barking and doesn't stop until he comes in. We live in town and this is very annoying to our neighbours. He does not bark like this in the house. Do you have any suggestions on how we can stop this? Thanks Jenn

I have a male BC about 15 months old. Occasionally he briefly pulls up lame on his left front leg, it appears that it may be a joint problem. He has no apparent pain, it only lasts a few moments, then he is totally back to normal. No limp. He is active (of course!), not overweight, and he's been training for agility and flyball. We didn't start training him until he was about a year old, and he started off with low jumps. He's still on low jumps because of his age. I think the first time we noticed this problem he was about six months old. I only see it about once every month and a half or so. Will he outgrow this? Will supplements help? Will a vet be able to spot the problem if it isn't occurring when I take the dog in? Advice Please!

i just adopted a female border collie/golden mix from shelter. we usually leave her outside with my other golden when my brother and mom and dad and i go somewhere (work and school). they re outside for about 5-5 1/2 hours. my border collie is very desturctive when out there. can someone please tell me how to stop this behavier? thanx 4 all yer help.
