I have sizable litter and mama gets a little nuts for the first couple weeks. So my vet recommended that i put her on the "fatkins" diet. She gets pasta, cottage cheese and shredded cheese every day with puppy food and she's having a blast! It'll be another week before puppies can eat food. |

After losing our female Berner to cancer in the beginning of May my
husband and I were the fortunate recipients of a gorgeous 9 year old
male rescue Berner and we are trying to find the breeder of the litter to let them know how great our Argos is.
The former owner of Argos does not remember who the breeder was but thinks he got Argos at a kennel in a location south east of Portland. Argos' date of birth was 9/15/1993 and the couple who purchased him were
Marc and Deborah Marenco. Marc cannot find any of his paperwork and does not remember the name of the breeder or Argos' registered name. Marc and Deborah had purchased a pup from Lori Anderson, but that was in
1991 and that puppy died at a very young age. Two years later they purchased Argos. Argos is a small Berner (he weighs only 75 pounds) and
has the sweetest personality.
Can you check to see if any of your members in the Portland Oregon area remember having a litter of pups on 9/15/93 and selling a male to Marc and Deborah.

Help!! I have a 9 month old male Berner who has developed "premature bilateral closure of the growth Plate" in both front legs. Has anyone ever heard of this? I am told it is most likely genetic.
If anyone has ever heard of this, I'd appreciate more information. I meet with the surgeon tomorrow evening to go over my options.

I would just like to warn you about a "so-called" breeder named Bonnie Kline. She asked us for a deposite and swore to us that it was COMPLETLY refundable. After she stopped returning out phone calls...and paid no attention to us what-so-ever, we moved on to other breeders. We asked her for our refund back, and she told us that she never told us that it was refundable...and that she wouldnt. We had to threaten her using our lawyer. She finally returned our money. |

I read this board once in a while and I see everyone looking for puppies. I posted one also like yours once but no one ever responds. I am going to help you all out a bit. BMD Breeders rarely have to go searching for someone to own their puppies. Many only have one or two litters a year and have waiting lists. What you all are going to have to do is research it yourselves. Ask Jeeves.. heck, use any search engine! I got a breeder thru calling a club contact woman by the name of Ruth Reynolds. She is in Florida. I tried to paste the web site to this message but couldnt. B-G and BMDC
Check into it and you will have to make some calls. We waited a few months once I found a breeder and by luck she had some puppies.. so this will work but you have to do the leg work to get them |

Scruggs, a 7 year old male Bernese Mountain Dog was lost over July 4th weekend and cannot be found anywhere. He escaped from the yard during fireworks, pulling off his collar. He had on a choke collar when he left. He has no identification on him, since he left his collar behind.
Scruggs is not neutered, and is very gentle.
He escaped from Brownsville, MI - near Flat Rock. This is in south eastern Michigan.
If anyone has seen Scruggs, can you please contact me or his owner (a co-worker - I told him I would let people know

31-year-old PH.D. candidate finishing up at Yale, seeking a BMD to accompany me everywhere around a college campus as a professor. Carefully researched the breed, have past experience raising and training a large breed (Akita puppy). BMD will have constant attention and a sense of purpose (carry books, eat half my meal, come into the classroom), and have runs on campus during leisure hours. Will only consider ethical breeders or past owners. |

I was talking with a breeder who told me that she has been giving her bitch fertility drugs. She was going to discontinue these drugs and when the dog was in season she was going to breed her. Is there any evidence of problems with the puppies because of these fertility drugs? |

I live in Wisconsin and it does get hot and muggy even up north. My Berner does not care for the hot and sticky weather
and prefers to stay inside by the central air vents. We go for our walks either early in the morning or when the
sun sets at night. They can get overheated very easily so please be careful. A run through the sprinkler is always
fun...keep them cool!! |

My husband and I live in Park City, Utah and our dog has always been our child. Our 13 year old son, Bear (a newfoundland), just passed away of cancer and needless to say, we are absolutely heartbroken and lost. We would love to find a Bernese to be our second child if at all possible. We have seen them in the area, and their temperment, heart, and show of affection reminds us of our Bear-Bear. We are both working and would find it easier if we could find a Bernese that is just over the puppy stage...house-broken, some training, etc. (1 - 3 years would probably be best). This dog would not have to be show quality or used as a breeding dog. We just want one to love and share our home with. If any of you have any suggestions, please e-mail us. This may help our heart mend a little easier. |
