Bearded Collie: Writing Article re: Beardies
|
Posted Date: 2003-06-11 06:52:37 By: DogWriter
Hello, my name is Tammy Gagne. I am a published freelance writer. I am also a columnist for Bird Times magazine.
I am currently working on an assignment for Dog & Kennel - a breed profile about bearded collies.
I am looking for a few succinct, informative quotes from knowledgeable owners about this breed.
Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Please just be sure to include your full name and location (city, state), so I can credit you properly if I use your response. (Just copy and paste the following questions with your answers into an e-mail to the address below.)
1. How would you describe the bearded collie's physical appearance? How would decribe the dog's temperament / personality?
2. Please describe how you discovered this breed?
3. Do you recommend this breed as a pet? Why or why not?
4. What is your favorite thing about the bearded collie?
5. In general, how good is this breed with children?
6. What characteristics seem to be unique to this breed?
7. What (if anything) do you dislike about this breed?
8. Do you have a photo(s) of your bearded collies you would like to submit for possible publication with this article? (Photos must be original, owned by you, and scanned at a minimum of 266 dpi.)
9. Please include the names and ages of your bearded collie(s) if one or more in particular is mentioned in your response.
10. Finally, is there anything else you'd like people to know about bearded collies?
Thank you for your input. I look forward to reading your responses.

Bearded Collie: illegal sex club
|
Posted Date: 2003-02-18 21:27:00 By: sparrow2003
ozzy osbourne involved with secret sex club?
ozzy osbourne is involved with a secret illegal sex club ring that involves the pushing of innocent women into sex and maybe even exploitation of young girls (as young as twelve years old) with the use of illegal implantation of transmitters by the (cia) government to use hypnosis and even torture to persuade women to exploit themselves and/or have sex with them.
this sex ring is not only immoral but they also endanger the health and lives of these women until they give in or become fat and unhealthy. they use many different methods of torture, such as putting them in pain, causing phony asthma attacks, ruining their skin, and interfering with their normal routine in life, ensuring failure at these women's endeavors. he tells the women afterwards, even if they have been tortured, humiliated and brutally treated for as long as twenty years, that he doesn't give a crap and they even threaten them with medical problems as serious as heart attacks. all because these women have been raised well enough that they will not give in to being prostitutes for the rich and beligerent famous.
their excuse for this is that they are to old to infatuate too many good looking women and they want to use the transmitters to fool the women into thinking they are in love with them because they don't want women that are just going to have sex with them for their money.

Bearded Collie: Older beardie and appetite
|
Posted Date: 2001-05-15 09:42:51 By: maureeng
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get my older beardie to eat? He has lost his appetite altogether. The vet has taken tests and aside from arthritis the tests are OK. Is this common? How old do beardies usually live? I am beside my self with worry. I have tried steak and he will eat a little of that but he doesn't even like rice anymore. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. |

I used to take care of animals for a living, but I am getting out of the business. I had purchased a significant amount of Advantage and Frontline for both Dogs and CAts. The ADvantage is a superb product that kills 98-100% of ALL fleas within 12hrs!!! the frontline is another excellent product that also kills not only fleas but ticks. The package of advantage is good for 4 applications whereas the frontline is good for 3. Im selling the packages for $20. Please if youre interested, dont hesitate to email me. Thank you.

Bearded Collie: BONE - beardie mix rescues
|

For anyone looking to adopt a beardie... Would you consider a bearded collie mix? The rescue organization BONE (Beardies and Others Needing Emmissaries) focuses on helping beardie and beardie-mixes in need. We try to help with cases where the Bearded Collie Rescue is unable to assist.
Currently, we do have some bearded collie mixes in need of new forever-homes. We can also always use more foster homes.
Please check out our web page at http://www.beardie.net/BONE
If you are interested in adopting one of our babies or helping out in any way, please let us know through our bulletin board on the website!
Thanks!

We are having no luck in finding a breeder that has puppies or in getting a response to e-mail about older dogs. Any help will be appreciated. We do not wish to breed or to show the dog, it will be loved as part of our family only. |

We have been looking for a Beardie for approximately 1 year. We can offer a solid family environment, travel benefits, medical coverage, gourmet pet food, lots of attention and an excellent retirement plan in exchange for a couple of kisses now and then (or more often) and a shake of the paw once in awhile. Experienced with Shepards and Pomeranians...our research (and Bailey, our neighborhood Beardie) convinced us we are Beardie People!!! Looking for a young, female under three (3). Have fenced yard in Brooklyn and summer home on a lake....will travel to meet.
Excellent vet references available.

Bearded Collie: Beardie Collie Puppy wanted.
|
Posted Date: 2000-03-20 09:10:00 By: PAtrick
Hi, We had the pleasure of adopting a Beardie from the local humane society about 12 years ago. In that time
we fell madly in love wit hthe breed. Our beautiful maggie-may passed away recently. We now are looking for
possibly 2 puppies. Not for breeding only for family pets. We live in NH in the country. We have the
invisible fence system and the beardies are allowed to run over about 3 acres of our yard. We are looking for
only female dogs, and would sign an agreement not to breed them. We have a very anxious 7 year old
who cant wait for our new family member. Please contact me through e-mail plagace@libertybay.com
or ICq me at 50796326 or you can post here. I would pay for all shipping costs or would travel to get the dog
if it is in the newengland area. Thank you Patrick |

We are expecting another baby in 2/01 and my wife is at wits end-wanting to get rid of the dog. Weve tried trainers and classes all without success. Any suggestions?

Hi. I have an 8 yr old daughter who wants to begin 4H next year and were researching different breeds for her. We show saint bernards and obviously, those are just too large for her to work with at this age. We were thinking along the lines of a bearded collie.
is this a wise choice? if anyone with knowledge of this breed and its trainability would please contact me ,I would appreciate it.
Thanks. |

Im getting a Beardie puppy in a little over a week.
She will be 10 weeks old when I get her. I have two cats
age five and six. I am not looking forward to introducing
these guys to each other. Does anyone have any advice on
how I can keep peace in the household? About 25 years ago
I had a beardie and a cat at the same time and they got along
well with each other but they were both adults when they met.
It was less trouble introudicing them to each other than it
introducing my two cats to each other, but with a puppy I
no Idea what to expect. Help. |

We are looking for either a Bearded Collie or OES, and would love to find a rescue group with dogs who
need our love and patience. We would definitely be interested in a mix, as long as it was a puppy or very
young dogs. We do not want breeding rights, and would be committed to getting our pet neutered.
We are also looking for anyone who knows of reputable breeders for either breed in the Northwest.

Bearded Collie: Beardie`s hair falling out!
|
Posted Date: 2000-03-09 15:26:00 By: Ronni Rosen
I have a loving Bearded Collie, Tessa, who is eleven years old. Ive noticed lately that her hair is thinning, especially on her back. The vet took blood suspecting a thyroid condition but the bloodwork came back normal. She put Tessa on thyroid medication to see if her coat improves. That was on March 6, 2000. On March 8, 2000 Tessa went back to the vet, was given a general anesthetic and had her teeth cleaned. She was quite lethargic even this morning. I noticed that there was a pronounced bald spot on her back and when I tugged GENTLY at the surrounding hair large clumps came off!! I had heard that with humans, anesthetic can sometimes cause hair loss. Is this true with dogs too? I have always taken excellent care of Tessas coat and this is entirely new for me. She has had dry skin problems, occassionally and a bit of Dermatitis, but this is awful! Im afraid Ill soon have a bald dog! HELP!!! |

I am in the beginning stages of trying to find the perfect dog. I instantly feel in love with the Bearded Collie. I live in a three story townhouse with no yard and leave for work at 7:20 and return at 5:00 (with a stop home for lunch). I am a dog person and have a lot of love to give. My problem is I already fell guilty that I am not home all day. I need a low energy dog that would rather lay around then run wild. I would love some feedback on this breed. Thanks!
