Yorkshire Terrier: throwing up yorkie

My new, 12 month old yorkiepoo has recently been throwing up yellow bile. I have been reading about this and apparently it's normal for small dogs, especially yorkies, to throw up bile when they are hungry. I adopted my dog from a volunteer group so i have no background info. on him or any, if any, pre-exsisting conditions. I have been trying desperately to get him to eat more throughout the day, but today after he had a vomiting spell he sort of fell over/passed out. I'm not trying to diagnose him but the logical reason seemed to be he got dizzy and fell over from exhaustion since he hadn't been eating and exhausted himself vomiting. Other than this spell, he is totally normal. his stools are normal and so is his behavior. His appetite is normal too, but he is a little hyperactive. So my question is : Is he just a little hyperactive and need to eat more frequently? or do you think he has a condition that requires a vet visit? please help i don't want to take him to the vet if it's unnecessary. Thanks! |

Yorkshire Terrier: New Yorkie Book

Dear Fellow Yorkie Lover,
My name is Scott Emerson and I’ve written a book with a Yorkie as the main character. The story is for kids 9-12 but adults seem to like it too. It’s kind of Sherlock Holmes meets Dogs Playing Poker. Anyway, it’s published by Simon & Schuster and has just been released. You can read more about it by clicking on the link to my web site www.samuelblackthorne.com.
Thanks for your time.
Sincerely,
Scott Emerson |

I want to buy a Yorkie puppy. I looked in the paper, but there were only phone numbers, which made me worried about "puppy mills" or shoddy breeders. I checked Colorado on this site, and there is nothing. Is the best a family dog who has been bred? Or a breeder who specializes in champion lines? Please give me some direction. Thanks. |

Yorkshire Terrier: yorkie or silky?

In May I purchased two puppies w/o papers from an ad in the newspaper listing them as Yorkshire Terriers. The parents were beautiful but bigger than I had thought they should be. The more I read about them, I wonder if they are not Silky's (or part Silky Terrier)because of the size of these guys. At 5 months old, one pup is already 7 lbs and the other even larger (my aunt's pup). They seem to have the face of a yorkie but quite larger than all these little 3.5 lbs - 5lbs I read about. Does anyone else have a yorkie this size? Thank you. |

My teacup passed away yesterday; symptoms: bleeding from rectum, vomiting blood (toward the end). Vet said previous day that he'd seen several dogs with same symptoms. Her blood, temp all good Thurs. He gave her Endrospan. Fri. when I saw no improvement I took her back. She was treated for shock, hooked to IV and placed on heating pad as temp. had dropped. No real explanation as to what happened. I'm distraught!! Do any of you have a similar experience. She was just fine Wed. When we bought her in May she was 19 mos., had already had a puppy (diff. breed), had been spayed, and had a hernia. Thanks for any help. |

Yorkshire Terrier: Tiny Male Stud
|
Posted Date: 2003-07-15 00:36:26 By: yorkielover
I have been searching for a tiny for some time now. I set out just to want a pet quality companion for my little female, not to breed. I decided I would love to own a stud to be able to offer his services, and maybe some day try my hand at breeding. I have a dear x-breeder friend that has taught me so much about breeding. I would love to start somewhere, but I seem to just get hostility from breeders and such because I want to try my hand at breeding. Everyone has to start somewhere! Why are many breeders so quick to put others down? Any suggestions? What can I do to try my hand at breeding these adorable dogs that I love so much? |

Born 2/15/03. We named him Rex. He is a pure Bred AKC puppy, less than 3 pounds. After taking him home my wife and I find that we cannot give the puppy all the time needed because of our busy schedules. We live in New hyde Park, NY and would love to sell him to the right family. He is adorable and deserves the perfect environment. We have a 1 year insurance policy and all the paperwork behind him. In addition, the puppy is microchipped. He is not a mill puppy, he was Bred by Wanda Reed. Please respond if interested. |
