i have an eight year old westie. he is able to sense and warn me when I am about to have a seizure. I would lide to get a puppy to train for the same. I would like to raise him so he will learn from my older dog. I do not need a show quality dog. He will be my companion. I would like a male. Money is tight, so I can't pay top dollar.

Help! We have a 4 year old full breed Westie that has been sick for 2 months. Harry's vet cant work it out. Any ideas? Harry has had a snotty nose, green snot, sneezes 5-10 times an hour, cant breathe properly at night. He has had normal blood test results, normal x-ray and has trialed 2 antibiotics with little effect. Anyone had anything similar in their little white friends?

I am going to look at a puppy this afternoon. What do I need to look for? I originally wanted a female but the breeder only has males left. My mom has a bichon frise who exhibits some male characterisitics I don't really care for. The breeder said if you neuter by 4 months they don't do the leg thing. Also I am concerned about the skin allergies Westies are prone to. The breeder said her male and female do not have skin allergies. Are they hyperactive? Anything else I need to know? Westie lovers beware. Please check references for breeders. I recently made the mistake of not checking on a breeder and ended of with an extremely ill puppy. After 2 surgeries my baby is fine. I contacted the breeder to let her know of the situation, but she never returned my phone calls. I dont want to see this happen to anyone else. I am taking steps to see what can be done about this situation. Anyone have any suggestions??

Our year-old Westie has had problems since she was five months old. Originally they suspected parvo. Vomiting, severe diarrhea, and she was hospitalized for several days. It was not parvo. For the last several months, she has had a red rash, welts, and heat spots all over her underbody, losing the hair on her legs. She has been treated for thyroid and yeast problems, and has been on cortisone, atarax, and antibiotics. Any suggestions? This has run into mega bucks and it looks like no one knows what to treat her for! Help!
