Siberian Husky: Whats the ideal food diet for my Siberian Husky?
|
Posted Date: 2008-08-08 22:32:52 By: Maggie
I was just wondering what would be the ideal food diet for my puppy.
He is currently 8 months old and we started him off on a diet consisting of 80% dry food and 20% of fresh chicken meat, or beef sometimes both mixed.
After a while we tried feeding him some chicken salami and dry food. After we that we started cooking rice and chicken and that went for a while because we were told that cooked rice and some cooked chicken is really good for him.
So we are trying feed him a little bit change here and there, however now at this stage we not quite sure if thats good for him and we dont know if she should keep up change the food here and there so he has some variety.
In changing the dogs food here and there could i make my dog sick???
and also someone said once a month a row egg is good for the dogs coat is that true???
Please help because we love our dog and dont want to make it sick.
Thank you very much in your attandence to this matter. Its greatly appreciated.

Siberian Husky: Help - mysterious leg infection, amputation next?
|
Posted Date: 2009-01-19 13:28:56 By: Deebaubles
Last may, I noticed an eraser size lump on my 3 year old huskies foot. The vet said he had a foot infection and perscribed drugs. The infection persisted, took dog to a different vet. 2nd vet biopsied the lump with inconclusive results. Perscribed cephalexin. infection persisted. vet perscribed steroids in combination with cephalexin. infection still persists.
I post here as a last ditch effort to save my dog\'s leg, as none of the vets he has seen can actually diagonis what is going on with him.
I wish I had pictures with me, even as gross as they are. what started as an eraser size pink lump, thru Bandit\'s incessant licking (even in a cone, leg wrapped in gauze and duct tape, he finds a way to his wound) the lump opened. additional lumps appeared. they get to be about the size of a quarter or 50 cent piece, they ooze bright green puss. A few of the lumps, after expanding and breaking open, dry up and heal - leaving a small pink mark on his leg. For each one that has healed, new ones develop. When completing the daily cleaning and rewraping of his wound, immediately upon unwrapping him, the wounds bleed.
The vet has concluded, thru biopsy, that this is not fungal or parasitic. They can not rule out cancer.
Don\'t want to amputate unless absolutely neccessary. If anyone has any thoughts on what this could be or an alternative drug to try, please post!
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Siberian Husky: play time questions

i just adopted a three year old sibrian husky. well over two months ago now and he dose not really \"paly\". he likes running and eating peanutbutter. the only play he likes is to mouth my arms. he will hold my hand or arm in his mouth and then let go all very sweet and loving and this is a game for him, but I would like to bond with him in ways other then me being a chew toy. he dosnt like balls, or frisbies, or the rope with knots on the ends, he dosn\'t like squeky toys \"thank god\". he dose like chasing dogs at the dog park, and running tword me. what can i do to give this dog a better life i want him to play and have fun, he is the first dog i have ever had my whole life and in the top 3 that i have ever spent more then a few hours with. what do dogs do for fun? how can i cultvate his creative and intellagent nature? |
Siberian Husky: Need Help Finding Husky Rescue or Similar In Florida!
|
Posted Date: 2009-06-29 12:38:21 By: OneLuckyMom777
I have a 1 year old male Siberian Husky, for whom I desperately need to find a good, loving home, w/ plenty of room to roam.
This was my neighbor\'s dog, but he became too much for them to handle. When I found out they were planning to go \"drop him off somewhere\" (just because they were tired of dealing w/ him), I immediately hopped online and started Google-ing Husky Rescue Organizations. I quickly printed out the information for the closest one I could find (which is nearly 8 hours away), and took it over to them. I told them that I would be more than happy to help them find him a more suitable home, if they could just give me a little time. But, I also told them that I would take him home with me, before I ever let him get \"dropped off somewhere\". Well, apparently they had no interest in waiting, because, they handed him right over, which is certainly not what I expected them to do.
The real issue here is that we live in Florida, where the temperature is currently at a blazing 90-105 degrees (heat index 105-115), and he\'s been kept outside, in a yard that\'s roughly 20\' X 35\' (1/2 of which is a concrete slab), basically chained up, because he\'ll jump the tiny 5\' tall fences we have, he\'ll dig himself out, or he\"ll even just bust through the fence altogether (because he is just so seriously in NEED of more space to run free, and much more physical activity). He almost never gets taken for walks, and certainly doesn\'t get enough attention, or the proper discipline a dog of this breed requires.
However, I have more than enough on my plate as it is, between my own 4 animals, my 3 children 5 and under, and on top of all that, I\'m leaving July 23rd to take my family on an 8 da |

MY WIFE AND I ARE BOTH DISABLED AND HAVE A WONDERFUL SIBERIAN HUSKY. SHE IS A VERY LOVING MEMBER OF OUR FAMILY. ONE TRAIT IS WHEN SHE GETS OUTSIDE THE FENCE SHE LOVES TO RUN. WE CANNOT RUN HERE DOWN AS WE ONCE COULD.WE REALLY HATE TO DO THIS BUT WE WOULD REALLY LIKE TO PUT HER IN THE RIGHT HOME WITH THE RIGHT PERSON OR FAMILY.
HOUSE DOG, MUST HAVE A FENCED IN YARD AND BE WALKED REGULARLY. WE DO NOT WANT HER TO BE A PET BUT A MEMBER OF THE FAMILY.
WE ARE LOCATED IN NORTH CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA.
WILL NOT SHIP HER. WE MUST MEET THE POTENTIAL OWNERS AND SEE IF THE NEW OWNER AND SHE ARE COMPATIBLE.
PLEASE RESPOND IF YOU FEEL YOU WOULD BE HER POTENTIAL NEW FAMILY.
THANKS. |

Siberian Husky: Huksy Nipping TOO MUCH!!!
|
Posted Date: 2009-09-22 09:48:06 By: Evan Gilead
My Siberian Husky, male, is nine months old and has started nipping a little too much. People that come over and are a little anxious about dogs have asked me if there is anything that I can do. I tell him to stop and NO and he listens for a minute but then continues to do it. He is good about everything else I just wish he would stop nipping. Does anyone have any advice or is this just a phase that they go through. |
