Shih Tzu and Allergies ?

My husband has already made arrangements to get a puppy in June - our kids have allergies & asthma so I'm concerned. Can anyone help me. I don't want to go through getting this puppy, then having my kids & ME be disappointed if they can't be around it. Thank you!

I have allergies AND a shih tzu. I am EXTREMELY allergic to dogs, and yet, my shih tzu does not effect me in any way... except for being extremely cute and loveable! If you are worried, research alot. These dogs are hypoallergetic. Hint: I think they're the cutest when they have shorter hair ;)
