Hi, I love this breed, but you need to know some grooming tricks. The best thing you can do is get a powerful blower/dryer. When your dog is shedding, it will blow out all the loose coat, and also a lot of dust and dirt. It actually will part the coat down to the skin, and is a good substitute for combing. (Do this outside when theyre shedding!) And of course, it dries the dog after a bath. Frequently, the dog looks like they need a bath, but after a good blow-out, they look fine.
You can brush or comb from the outside forever without getting that undercoat out. You need to learn a technique called line-combing. That is the only way to get down to the skin if you dont have a blower.
If your dog is shedding and you want to get it all out, a bath will help things along. A light creme rinse will help the hair fall out. Dont use too much and make sure to rinse it well. It tends to attract dirt to your clean white dog otherwise. One caution, the dog MUST be thoroughly line co |
