Rottweiler: Rottie Itching
|
Posted Date: 2008-07-29 02:12:42 By: Stacy
In the past week or two, my almost 6yr old female Rottie has been itching like crazy! Nothing dramatic has changed...so I am stumped as to why she is itching so much! I\'ve refused to give her Benadryl but succumbed to it earlier this evening (just one pill) to see if it would make a difference. So far, no luck, but I think I will continue to give her 2 pills (through out the day) tomorrow to see if it helps. Has anyone had this problem? Do you have any advice? |
Rottweiler: Is it normal? What should I do?
|

Dear all,
My male Rotweiller age 7 months (born on 1 March 2008) has a habit to play with a loose mortar he digs from a cracked cement floor.
If he got a big one he uses it for play by pulling/dragging it with his front claw and pushes it with his nose. He is quite playful dog.
But if he got a small one say around 1 cm diameter, he really chews it and eats it. Is it normal? Will it do any harm to him/his digestion system?
Secondly, I use to walk him every other day (every Monday, Wednesday and Friday). During this walk, should I follow him wherever he wants or should I direct him where to go? At the moment I do both, some time I allow him to decide where we go and some other time I drag him to follow the path I choose. What should I do the correct one? When I drag him to go to where I want looks like he is easily get bored and tried to go where he wants or just stop and sit there.
Thirdly, during the walk I can teach him many new instructions like stop, turn around, leave, move, go, hop, jump and the like. Any time he can understand my command I always treat him with caresses and or taping his neck. Is that enough? Or should I give him some thing like small cookies or dog food or any other thing he likes?
Regards,
Oly.

Rottweiler: PLEASE HELP!

My cousin found a beautiful rottweiler named Sadie on the side of the road in early spring. He did everything he could to find her owner, but sadly it became obvious she was abandoned. Nobody in our family could wrap our heads around who would abandon such a sweet and obedient girl.
Sadie has lived at my aunt and uncles house since then with their 2 older children and a 150lb German Sheppard who has become her best friend. There was not one issue with her until a month ago when a neighbor was walking their greyhound and Sadie went after the dog. Although the injuries were minor, it was a cause for concern.
Another incident occured last Friday. My other cousin owns a cat, which is rarely in the house and if it is, it is confined to her room. Sadie, the rottweiler, has really never had any interaction with this cat.
The cat wandered downstairs and Sadie grabbed the cat cat in her mouth and literally, shook her to death. When my uncle finally got Sadie to release the cat the German Sheppard who has NEVER done anything like that before went after her as well. The cat died due to the injuries the dogs inflicted on her.
As you can understand, my family is very upset. They love Sadie, but Sadie also killed their daughters cat. My male cousin would do just about anything to keep her, but he was out voted by his family.
We want to keep Sadie alive and find her a home that fits her. She would do great as an only dog or as the sister to another big dog. We realize that Sadie probably suffered some kind of abuse from her previous scumbag owner.
If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Could someone point me in the direction of a rescue group that might take her? We will pay for her expenses!!! We have exhausted |
Rottweiler: Rottie in SC needs help

Please crosspost.
I know in rescue we normally have to think of the big picture and how many other animals we can save with the money we are asking for this boy. But there is something about him that has grabbed all of us and we just want to help him. With the help of some wonderful people already we have given this boy a chance. The people that saw him get hit by the car and stopped have stepped up and have said they will cover part of his surgery bill. Howlmore animal sanctuary here in Columbia said they will house him during his rehab period for us. Now we just need your help to get Hudson the surgery he needs. No donation is too small, they all add up and every little bit helps.
Below is the link to his online chip in fundraiser (and you can see pictures!). If you would like to mail a donation please mail it to the po box listed below. All donations are tax deductible. and Hudson would sure appreciate any help.

|
Posted Date: 2009-08-03 22:18:15 By: Christina
I am looking for a pup from the \"Von Settergren\" bloodline. I purchased Ruger Von Settergren from a gal in central oregon I think she called herself \"Betty Boop\". She owned a large ranch and had imported two Rottis from denmark for breeding.
My Ruger passed away from old age about 5 years ago and I am wanting to purchase another rotti. I just couldnt see myself with any other dog then one from his bloodlines. If you have any information about this breeder or a pup from his lines please email me @ christinacolosso@yahoo.com |
