I have to say here - a rottweiler is a rottweiler, no matter what the bloodlines. It is true that Germany is more strict about following the standards, but it doesn't mean that America has different standards. it just means that you have to do your homework on breeders. You have to find a responsible, ethical, moral breeder that is breeding to better the breed, not to make a quick buck! Responsible breeders have owners for their puppies lined up before the litters are born - that's the way it should be. Make sure that whatever breeder you buy from has a health guarantee and that they will take the dog back from you for ANY reason at ANY time in it's life. That's the responsiblity that comes along with being an ethical breeder. One more thing - if you are not involved in rescue, don't breed - you are adding the overpopulation of dogs and doing nothing to help the problem! JMHO!! |
