My husband and I were both raised with r/r, our Annie has been with us for 10 years now, it has NOT been our experience that R/R are headstrong and need obedience training...our experience tells us that these dogs respond to love and attention...are easily trained and bond rapidly to a family...they are protective without being aggressive, which makes them a perfect family member...Annie is tolerant and even inviting to other animals and children, but will stand guard if a strange adult approaches...we leave our front door open during the nice weather and she will sit or lie IN THE HOUSE in front of the door...weve never had a problem with her running after moving objects, leaving the yard, barking, housetraining, biting, etc....we do have to restrain her, tho, when the electric meter reader comes into the back yard!!!..shes been with us for so long that I dont remember if we had to make serious efforts to train her in the "donts", but I have a feeling that this breed is so anxious to |
