Rhodesian Ridgeback: Temp home Largo/ Indian Rks Beach Fl
|
Posted Date: 2008-07-13 19:38:24 By: Susan
Exstrenuating circumstances, divorce, 2 loving Rhodesian Ridgeback ,sisters, 8 years old, healthy, and happy. Would like to find a temporary home, near my temporary home in Largo for my spade girls.
I can not keep them in condo. Have chain link kennels with doors, although they love being in the house. would be great to keep them where I can see and feed them until we all can go to our new home. If someone would like to test drive what living with a rhodesian is like and ready to fall in love, this would be a great way.
But they are not for sale. They are fully house trained. used to cats, are well pampered hounds, flea free, well behaved. Very loving.
I am certain the universe will provide the highest good for our transistion.
Please contact me via email with RR in Subject.
Namaste,
Susan |

im looking for ridgeback owners who are willing to tell me about the breed by telling me about their dogs. i have no intention of obtaining a ridgeback and any point in the near future. i am just struck by the beauty of this breed and i want to learn more. i own an adopted rottweiler-pittbull mix who is a wonderful dog. i love both of these breeds as well as many similar breeds.
please understand that i do NOT support fighting dogs or training them to be nasty. the sometimes poor reputations of many of my favorite breeds are not what i am attracted to. these dogs can be wonderful in the right homes with the right owners. i am attracted to the appearances and personality traits commonly found in emotionally healthy members of these breeds. |

We all went to a show last weekend with my 2 girls...
SAT: Breeders Sweeps:
Amandla took Open Female and the Best of Opposite over all..
CONFIRMATION:
SAT: Matada took Open Female, winners... Amandla took a 3rd...
SUN:... Matada took Open Female and Best of Breed.. Amandla took a 2nd..
So now it looks like I can add Matadat to my gaggle of Champs.. - (Matada is now going to be being bred next spring)
I have too look into Allies points but if I am correct all she needed was 1 point for her Ch. and if that is the case then I came home with.. 2 CHAMPS....WOO HOO !!!!
My daughter - Megan, showed Amandla in open confirmation and Matada in junior handling on Sat
and on Sun. she showed Lances liver girl..it was Keishas 3rd time in a ring and she did great..just need more experience especially for showing under a young girl who she just met ...they both had fun... And both were feed treats afterwards for a reward...hehhe

Rhodesian Ridgeback: Just couldn`t resist... :-)
|
Posted Date: 2000-08-04 10:31:00 By: ridgebackz
Well I went and did it AGAIN....
I decided after a lot of thought... that I will be keeping one of our puppies.. woo hoo!!!
She is perfect - at least to me.. We call her Juva (which mean sun light..sun rays etc...so it is "Amandlas Sun Beam Baby" Out of Mandelas Miracle of Amandla (Allie) and Ch. Aslans Krugerrand (Randy).
I was looking at the next several years of my breeding program and was noticing that in a few years my girls will be getting older.
I loved the breeding that I did this year but was having a tough time if I should keep one this year or from next years... Well it looks like I may be keeping a puppy from both litters...
That will put us over the top with a gaggle of 7.. :-)
We are planning on moving from the farthest point of Northwest Washington to Flordia (where my husband is from)in the next year or so..and I wanted to get all my gang and plans organized before moving..
With just getting remarried..having a equestrian stable |

Is it best to just contact the breeders and ask about upcoming litters? Are there waiting lists? How should we get started in finding "our" pup? |

Ive seen a lot of posts requesting information on the breed and for a list of breeders. You can find all of that at www.rrcus.org This is the website of The Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of The United States. You will find info on the breed, health problems with the breed, how to train the breed and a list of reputable breeders listed by state. There have been several posts on this message board with WRONG information about the breed. Please take the time to go to the RRCUS Web site to educate yourselves on this breed before you get one, it is not a breed that just anyone can live with.

We are looking for a pet-quality female to be available anytime after July, 2000. I presently work full-time and will be done in mid-July and I want to devote the early years of our puppy to training and alot of attention. Please email me @ Shona12@aol.com with any info you may have regarding a litter due to leave home in July. Thanks SO much! Jackie |

Rhodesian Ridgeback: no lions in OUR neighborhood!

Posted Date: 2000-03-30 23:57:00 By: trish
Annie has been a family member for 10 years, our ongoing "joke" is how weve never seen a lion, so she must be doing a great job!! Theres been some recent construction (to our dismay) destroying some close wetlands, as a result weve had an invasion of racoons and possoms...bold critters come right into the house!..(not too long ago we found our cat, ANNIE and a baby possum all sleeping together!) The other day, my husband asked...why doesnt ANNIE bark at the coons and possums, to which I replied, she only barks at strange people, not other animals, then he says ...well!! would she bark at a LION??..my answer..probably, thats her job!...that led us to the question..would she bark at a lion dressed in a racoon costume trying to sneak into our house?????? |

We just bought a 4 month old ridgeback last Sunday. My wife and I both work and bought her a cage (48" x 36" x 32") to stay in during the day. She has no problem with it, think she loves it. But everyday we come home there is crap everywhere inside. The vet suggested to reduce the cage size by half. We did and still crap everywhere. Why? We take her out in morning and she poops and pees. Then this happens. We also take her out and nothing then as soon as she comes back in the house she pees and sometimes poops. We jsut bought a puppy pad to try out. Any suggestions please?

I currently have a 9 week old rhodesian puppy. I have a vacation planned in two weeks and my puppy sitter fell through. Im considering taking my puppy on the trip but would like feedback on how this would be for the puppy. my family and i will be driving 8 hours to get to a natural park in canada. from there we will be canoeing and portaging (carrying the canoes over land) for approximately 8 - 10 hours a day for 7 days. I believe that someone would be available to carry the pup on portages if she got to tired. It seems that the pup would enjoy this but im wondering about the strenuousness of the activity and Ive heard that breeds suseptible to hip dysplasia shouldnt exercise to heavily at a young age. Any thoughts, comments, ideas would be great!! Thank you |
