My Puli is 6.5 years old. In her rather short life, she has had 2 hernia operations, has a mild form of epilepsy, and a mild form of hip dysplasia. Her most recent ailment came in the form of not eating for 5 days. Xrays and blood tests later, doctors were not able to figure it out. One of her kidneys is bigger than the other. Her white blood cells jumped up from 29,000 to 39,000, but has now dropped down to 30,000 which is apparently normal. She is still weak and cannot stand up on her own. We had her on Glucosomine Chrondrotin for about 1.5 years and and that has seemed to help. We have tried everything from Rimadryl and Cosequin to ease her pain in her hips. Has anyone else tried anything successfully? Not knowing when we bought her when she was 8 weeks old, she is very closely inbred. Her grandfathers are the same, and all of her great grandparents consists of only 4 dogs that were bred together. This may explain a lot of her health problems. |
