I have a 4 yr old chocolate female poodle- 12 lbs. - that I would like to breed. She will be coming into heat around mid-May. I live in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area. Please let me know if you have a chocolate male about 10 lbs. that I could breed her with. Thanks.Amaretto

Breeding takes alot of effort. More than you sound you are ready for. To me you sound like a backyarrd breeder. First of all, why are you breeding your bitch? Does she have her championship and any performance titles? Has she had OFA, CERF, and other clearences done with good results? Is she very close to the toy poodle AKC standard? Have you had contracts approved by a lawyer for possible puppy buyers? Are you willing to have spay/neuter contracts signed? Do you know how to properly socialize pups? Are you willing to spend atleast $1000 for a quality stud? Will you take time off from work to care for the dam and litter? Do you have the money to pay for ultrasounds, vaccines, wormings, welping box, ect? Will you be willing to take a pup back if the owner could not keep it? Are you willing to pay a ton of money to have these pups evaluated by someone to see if they are show quality? These are just a few questions that are involved in the raisinng, dedication, and responsibility of breeding pups.

Well, I must sayy what I feel, seeing, that everyone sees these postings. Thhe Fact is, No matter what we do there are going to be Back Yard Breeders, Maybe instead of giving them the Third Degree, If we try to educate and help them Learn what Each of us Breeders know, Those breeders will Learn and Appreciate what we are doing. And Even the Best of The Best breeders will never know Everythiing There is to Know about Breeding.. We will always Learn something New. Just my thoughts.

Ok, For all of you other "Breeder Bashers" The other reply refers to you as well. Yes I do, and have spent more money on my animals then I probably spend on myself and my family members!
