Pomeranian: HELP!!!Wee Wee Pad training..confused
|
Posted Date: 2008-08-30 07:47:11 By: Lisa
I am confining my 5 mo Pom whenever I can\'t watch her. When I take her out of the small confined area I take her to the wee wee pad..have had some success and have praise her. I take her there after meals & playtime etc..whenever I think she will go. I am confused sometimes she goes in the two by two ft square area. It only has her bed and the whole bottom is covered with wee wee pads she can ONLY go on the pads so she isn\'t making a mistake..but is she getting the message to go on the wee wee pad when she goes inside her confined area on the wee wee pad? ...sometimes on the morning she has not gone ..I take her out onto a wee wee pad I have outside the confined area ..she goes I praise her..but when I wake up and she has gone in the confined area I am confused as to what to do..take her to the pad still even though she has already gone?...is she understanding in the confined area that wee wee pad is the place to go & when I take her out side & she goes how much of a fuss should I make? |

Pomeranian: Pom (female) odd behavior

I was blessed with a wonderful pom from my friends grandmother who could no longer care for her. Before that, she came from an abusive home. We bonded quickly. When I first would take her outside to \"use it\", I had a long retractable leash so she could go far. She showed signs of improving. Yesterday I took her outside (as usual and leash free as we have been for the last week) and she ran off after roaming the yard.... I have no clue whether to trust her, because now se hates the leash, or to jsut keep her on one... |
Pomeranian: Don\'t pad train
|
Posted Date: 2009-04-21 15:18:05 By: Amy
I think you\'re extremely stupid for pad/paper training a dog. If you don\'t have the time to take it outside during the day or someone else that can you shouldn\'t HAVE the dog to begin with. I also don\'t believe in \'crating\' dogs. Especially pomeranian\'s. You can really mess them up in the head doing retarded stuff like that because you want to be lazy and not take the dog outside or to watch it and stick it in a cage |
Pomeranian: Help

I recently purchased an adult Pomeranian, for breeding who was bred & said to have free whelped two past litters. She went into labor but did not deliver, I took her to the vet where she underwent a c-section. During this procedure my vet found evidence of a prior c-section. Does anyone know of any recourse I would have? |
Pomeranian: dog litter box

Has anyone used a dog litter box? I have recently found the Rascal Dog Litter box on the internet and my Poms started using it immediately. It has artificial grass that seems realistic and high sides that keep my male\'s mess inside the box! Any other Poms using this? |

Pomeranian: Pom Behavior?
|
Posted Date: 2009-11-01 10:30:32 By: Theresa
We have a 10-month old Pom who has become afraid of her water/water dish. She won\'t go near it and when she\'s really thirsty, she stands there and growls at it, shuffling her feet, but won\'t drink. In fear of her dehytrating, I found she will drink cautiously if I hold the bowl or just sit near it. This has to stop, but I don\'t know how to handle this and am afraid of making the situation worse by \"rewarding\" the unwanted behavior. She also in the last week or so become very afraid of things, which has also been accompanied by this new shuffling the feet and purring or softly growling behavior. She has always been an extremely well balanced, happy go lucky, loving and well-behaved pup. Any advice/help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I don\'t want to handle this wrong and create a bigger problem than there is already. |
