Inquiring about a Papillon!!

I recently found out about the Papillon breed after watching a program on the Animal Planet channel! I am very interested in the breed and would like to find out more. My husband and I have two dogs at the present, a Blue Heeler and a Border Collie, they are indoor/outdoor pets; we also have a cat, she is indoor! Does the Papillon breed get along with other animals? Our Border Collie is a rescue dog, she was going to be put to sleep because the previous owner did nto want her anymore, she was five years old at the time, we have been working with her for abour 9-months and she is doing great, she was introduced to herding for the first time about 6-months ago. On the show I saw that the Papillon does have some herding instinct. Is this true? We really would like to find a rescue or unwanted dog, to give a good home to! I do not plan on showing or breeding the dog. Anyone with any info. please let me know! Thanks I am in Missouri, if you know of anyone who has this breed in the area!

I'm getting my papillon this weekend; my experience is mostly with my mom's. She has had three -- two currently -- and they're just charming. They get along quite well with each other outside of the usual dominance issues. The paps also adore their very large black lab, and the male is confident enough he's been known to stick his head into the lab's mouth when going after a toy. From what I recall, they also deal well with other animals they see, although they like to bark. They're very social and love people. They're quite funny little dogs, very intelligent, and can be quite prissy! I would think the main concern with larger dogs would be that the larger dogs didn't think of the papillon as prey, as they're quite small, and the puppies are truly tiny. Mine will be coming home to large two cats, and I'm more concerned about the cats accepting it than the pup!

I own paps and they are very social. I take my little girl to work with me every day and she thinks the customers that come in have only come to see her..some times she's right.If parents are yappy pup will be to. Mine will talk to you but is not a yapper. They are wonderful compaions, All they want is to be with you, whowever being tiny they are brakable careful with lg dog as a playfull pat with a paw can brake them.they are all PERKY
