I was given a small dog, we were told that she was a Pomeranian, or at least part Pom! After doing some research online I have come to find that she has no characteristics of a Pom and more of a Papillon, she is about 10lbs, mostly black with a white belly and chest, a little white on her muzzle and white paws. Her hair has been cut recently so it is not as long as most of the pictures I have found. I have read the AKC standards and know that she fits into those. Is there anyother charcteristics I should look for or anyone who can tell me if I send a picture of her. It really doesn't matter just womdering!

I have a female Pap I want to breed. What is the stud fees usually run?

We are proud owners of a 3 month old sable papillon. She has been a joy but I have a question I was wondering if any of you experienced. She scratches a lot. Even to the point where she is creating sores on her skin. She has been to the vet, checked meticulously by him, the breeder and us for flees which she has NONE. I spoke to the breeder this morning about this and she said that puppies scratch a lot. She said they sometimes get something to the equilant to a baby's cradle cap plus she is loosing her puppy fur and this is an itchy process. Has anyone experienced this before and if so, what did you do? Thanks. P

I recently found out about the Papillon breed after watching a program on the Animal Planet channel! I am very interested in the breed and would like to find out more. My husband and I have two dogs at the present, a Blue Heeler and a Border Collie, they are indoor/outdoor pets; we also have a cat, she is indoor! Does the Papillon breed get along with other animals? Our Border Collie is a rescue dog, she was going to be put to sleep because the previous owner did nto want her anymore, she was five years old at the time, we have been working with her for abour 9-months and she is doing great, she was introduced to herding for the first time about 6-months ago. On the show I saw that the Papillon does have some herding instinct. Is this true? We really would like to find a rescue or unwanted dog, to give a good home to!
