The Bullmastiff was breed specifically to accompany gamekeepers in 19th century England to protect them from poachers. They were bred by crossing the toughness of the Bulldog with the size and speed of the Mastiff. They were trained to chase poachers and pin them down until the gamekeeper got there. They have also been used for military and police work.

Surprisingly gentle for their size, the Bullmastiff makes a loving family pet. They can be somewhat independent so obedience training is necessary. As long as their size is taken into consideration they make wonderful companions for children and get along well with other animals. They are naturally suspicious of strangers and make good watch dogs, being very protective of their family. This breed craves human companionship and will not do well as a strictly outdoor dog.

HI i have an order for a collar for a full grown male bullmastiff collar , but do not know the neck size ? The dog is still a pup at the moment and i have sold them a collar i had in stock for now but the owner would like me to make one for when it grows up.Could you please help me out. what differant types of bullmastiffs are there? because i saw a pic of this one bullmastiff that was walking with his owners and this horse and the dog was half the size of the male owner. i\'d really like to get one soon and i want one that looked like the dog in the picture. i found his picture under \"the worlds biggest dog\" when you see a large dog and a white horse and 2 people thats it.

My female bullmastiff is the sweetest, happiest dog I\'ve ever seen, but she\'s 14 months old now, I\'ve had her for one year and she still soils her crate at night (urine and feces) and seems quite content to lay in it. I\'ve paid for trainers, had her go to \"doggie boot camp\" have spent thousands to make sure it isn\'t a medical problem, still no luck. Am at my wit\'s end. Don\'t want to give her up but too much stress.

Hmm. Tough to say Nat. They range. Purebreds can go up to more than $2000 for a Mastiff Puppy. However, if you're not looking to stud out your dog later, you might be able to get one with good parents (always check the dog's lineage for genetic birth defects commin to bull mastiffs) for about $750-$800.
