This breed is characterized by high energy and strong hunting instincts. They will chase small animals and dig up the yard in search of prey. They can be good with children and other animals if supervised, but will not back down or take abuse from others. This trait can get them in to trouble with small children or larger animals. They will be happiest if they have a large securely fenced yard to run in, but can adjust to apartment living with a concerted effort to meet their exercise needs.
