The Aussie makes a wonderful companion for anyone looking for an intelligent active dog. They are extremely eager to please and excel in sports like agility, flyball and frisbee. They need to have a daily "job" or purpose, otherwise all of their intelligence and energy will get them in to trouble. They take well to obedience training. Aussies are naturally protective of their property and family and may be initially reserved around strangers. Their long coats require weekly brushing to keep them in good shape.
