This breed is best suited for rural living, or for someone who actively hunts. The are a high energy breed and need plenty of daily exercise on a lead or in a safely fenced area. If allowed to roam this breed will wander off in search of prey. They are extremely people oriented and are not good for people who work all day. They can become destructive or incessant barkers if left alone. This breed has a very loud bark which carries long distances.
