The Siberian Husky is an old breed, developed in northeastern Siberia as a sled dog. The Siberian is smaller and lighter than most sled dogs, but it is much faster, especially as a team. The Siberian Husky is a popular pet, many people are taken in by their wolf-like appearance. They actually do not have any wolf blood in them, they have been domesticated for centuries. Like other northern breeds they can be a challenge to train, they are independent and quickly bore of traditional training methods. They were bred to pull heavy weights over long distances and need several hours of exercise daily to keep them calm. They are very affectionate with people and generally see everyone as a friend, making them poor watch dogs.

I have an adorable 3 yr old neutered male with a unilaterial ectopic ureter. Surgical correction is very invasive and not too successful (about 60%)in reducing urine leaking following surgery. I\'ve read about a new laser procedure performed only 4 times with greater success ratio and much easier recovery for the dog. Does anyone have any information? Our dog is not just a companion at our home, it is a very big part of our family.
Thanks for any help you can suggest.

i had many sibeirien huskys, and they are the best dogs out there, these dogs get very jelious of there owners they bond tight to one owner,i just had to put my oldest siberian down,he was very jelious, when my wife would sit next to me he would growl, and would not stop till she moved away, then he would jump on the couch by me,if i would leave he would try to break out and find me,he ran for ten miles to town to try to get me,i always introduced my dogs to people and other dogs so they won\'t get to jelious.they just want your attention, all i can say is they bond tight.i hope this helps if i can answer a question please ask thanks Brian

I adopted a 9 week old Husky mix from a shelter about 2 weeks ago. My original intention was to get an adult medium sized dog, but the women at the shelter suggested that since I have cats and a young child (5 year old), that I get a puppy so it will get used to having cats and kids around. I am now very concerned after reading information about Husky\'s, it seems everyone says they are not good with cats. Also, she has bitten my son several times, on the back - not a simple nip on the hand or leg. I\'m concerned she\'s going to get big quickly and seriously hurt my son or cats. Is this a valid concern, or am I being overly cautious?
I\'m scheduled to take her back to the rescue center tomorrow, but I\'m really conflicted. Otherwise she\'s a good dog - just basic puppy/breed issues that we can work through.

Is this normal for a dog like her, or should I take her tothe vet and see what they say I need to do. I am worried about her eye. If there is any information you can give me on what I shuld do that would be really helpful. Thank you
